Anniversary Dinner at Sate Khas Senayan

February 9th is our wedding anniversary. This year we celebrate our 6th anniversary. Anniversary for us is a time to celebrate the beauty, gift, and the blessing of enduring love. Yes, because of love, we still together, holding hands each other -also our daughter's  hands-, share our dreams for better tomorrow.

We had our anniversary celebration at Sate Khas Senayan, an Indonesian Food Specialist. They offer traditional food from all over Indonesia, and serve them in more modern way. Eventhough, they still keep the traditional recipes of the food. Eating there is just like coming home and enjoy Grandma's recipes :)

We sat on the rattan chairs, beside the very wide windows. This rattan chairs bold the traditional image of the restaurant. I also love their cristal hanging light over the table. Just not usual to use that kind of lighting for a restaurant.

There are always "wayang" in every Sate Khas Senayan Outlets

While waiting for the food, lets take some selfie pictures :)

For many people, anniversary dinner shoul be a couple dinner. But Mr Karmi, didn't want to leave our sweet daughter, Nasywa. We leave her everyday for work, so we always want to be with her during weekend.

First menu, Teh Poci, black tea served in a clay pot. This serving method is used by people especially the Javanesse people until this day. This clay pot, named Poci can keep the quality of tea while its brewed.

I ordered Lontong Cap Go Meh. This is an occassional menu, usually served during Imlek, Chinese New Year Celebration. I liked the lontong and the coconut curry, also the boiled egg, satay and tofu.
Ayam Kremes, fried chicken with crispy, served with traditional sambal and salad. My daughter enjoyed this dish. We usually eat ayam kremes with steam rice.

My beloved husband ordered Soto Betawi with steam rice. Soto is a common dish that almost every region in Indonesia have their own Soto. Soto Kudus, sroto are from Central Java, while Soto Bandung, Soto Bogor are from west Java. We also have Soto Padang from West Sumatra, Soto Banjar from Borneo, and many more. The differences are in the ingredients and broth. Our menu, Soto Betawi recipe comes from ancient Jakarta. Soto Betawi made from special broth with coconut pasta and herbs and or milk, accompanied with beaf, fried potato, tomato, and cracker.
Nasywa -not like another child- very loves eating. In a day, she can eat 4 times, excluding snack, milk, fruit juice. How she loves food could be seen here :)

Everyday is special day simply because we have each other as partner..

Happiness is about to choose the good things from every bad things..
And yes, We are happy family during this 6 years, and heading for years of happiness and love..
Happy anniversary, Mr and Mrs Karmi
